With What Shall I Come Before The Lord? Pastor John Doonan Micah 6:6-8 What is the will of God for our lives and how do we approach God? Its easy to see that people in the church desire to do the will of God and want to have His Will in their lives, but confusion often mixes into the simplicity of His plan. All of the opinions and sincerely given advice muddle our thoughts and we tend to get off track to God’s chief purpose. In the church there is a real and sincere hunger to do the will of God. The solution is universal: Look To the Word! In our text God’s answer to man is not in the form of tradition, or man’s ability to give but simply of the spirit. To do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with the Lord. As I read I thought of the simplicity of the answer. This is very "nice" and a "good thing" to do. Although as I meditated on His answer it occurred to me these principles are impossible through our human ability to accomplish. In order to perform these we require the power of a reborn Spirit. Only through the purity and selflessness of God’s Spirit, are we even remotely able to resemble this new character. Only by walking in liberty and freedom from the guilt and penalty of sin is it even a possibility. To Always Do Justly. Never falling into patterns of control but always considering the needs of others. Not treating anyone at all unjustly. To give justice to those we do not like or even agree with because it is the will of God. To love mercy, I emphasize to love. It is not enough just to consider the
poor or those who have done wrong to us but To Walk Humbly With God. Not to walk after God, but with Him always present in our lives to guide, comfort, and teach us. To be open to learn more. Not lifted up in pride because of the anointing God has placed on your life, but to be a servant to the Most HIGH GOD! Man’s reaction to the Father has really never changed. We look to traditional methods of coming into the presence of God to please Him by the work of our hands. Our sacrifice and pain of giving is not what He desires. What He wants is our body , to manifest His Spirit through. For to Love as He does brings justice to those oppressed, to have His compassion produces mercy to all in need. To understand it is not through our works but His Grace as we walk humbly and freely with our Father the Most High God. He provided the sacrifice of His own Son for us!
Gracetasters Reflect Youth for the Nations 1997. Every Year Christ for the Nation opens their
campus to youths from all walks of life. They encourage youth to seek the
Lord on their own, and what it means to let Jesus be Lord of their life. The
theme this year was computers "Get Connected". Since our youth have returned
from their trip, we’ve witnessed their boldness to witness to their
families, and friends. They are more committed and active in church
services. Thank you Jesus! Katie My eyes saw the power of God’s Love and made me realize just how much I need Him and most importantly how much our generation needs Him. Jessica K. God opened my eyes through the events of the week that He Is Real! It’s great to know you’re never alone, God is always there and that others are going through the same thing you are. Jessica It was such an awesome experience that has changed my life. God delivered me from fear, hate, and a hardened heart. He physically healed me and gave me peace. God filled me with all of His fullness, which has set me free. Adam The trip to Dallas was a great experience. The witnessing of my cousin’s salvation also had a big impact on my life for the better. Sherry I left Dallas in such awe as I witnessed His power and miracles. God means business about getting this generation of teens. We are never to old, nor is it ever too late to give our lives as a service to the Lord. We are a part of the Body of Christ. Not one is excluded because of age, race, color, creed, rich, or poor. Testimony After we arrived from the airport to our home I checked my email in short order. In between then and now we had a storm and it fried our computer! We could get the monitor and printer to power-up but the hard drive would not turn on, so essentially we had no computer. This morning I called the computer dealer to see what to do about the situation and after talking to a representative there it was decided that we should bring the computer to the nearest store that was about 30 minutes from our house to get it fixed. This process was going to take 7 to 10 days and in the meantime I would have a hard time emailing anybody, doing med school applications, and of course the rest of the family had tasks to do on the computer (like register for university). I knew that this situation simply would not do, and God reminded me that I could lay hands on sick things and in His name demand them to be well ("coincidentally" in yesterday’s sermon you talked about the very thing). So, I laid both of my hands on the hard drive and said something very close to "in Jesus name you are healed" or "God thank you that our computer is healed". Then I pressed the power button (which I had done many times last night and this morning trying to get it to work) and the hard drive powered-up! The first thought that God put in my head after that was "and this is just a computer; how much more do I care for people"? How much more is He willing to heal those who are humble enough to believe that He is their risen Savior? Through Jesus and the power in the Holy Spirit God uses our hands, our minds, and the rest of our bodies for His glory, to show His desires for us. Eric
